Batalha is the most emblematic cinema of “Invicta” and one of the most important in the country. It accompanied the entire Portuguese twentieth century: it was born just before the regicide and grew up with the young Republic, it resisted 40 years of dictatorship, screamed the 25th of April and watched Portugal entering the CEE. It survived censorship, experienced several revolutions and technological changes, but it succumbed to the lack of public, even in the turn of the 21st Century. Two decades later, Batalha is being reconstructed and will open its doors in 2021. Are you ready to face the challenges of the 21st century?
